The Giacometti brothers, Alberto (1901-1966) and Diego (1902-1985), worked together during their entire life. During 10 years, they collaborated with Jean-Michel Frank, Alberto designing forms, his brother Diego assisting him. At the beginning of the 50s, few time before his brother's death, Diego Giacometti began with realizing his own creations, notably thanks to the impulse of his first and faithful admirers, Aimé and Marguerite Maeght. Diego Giacometti guided his searches towards furniture, armchairs, tables and objects, in which his famous bestiary, and worked the bronze skilfully. His functional and decorative works found their place in every kind of interior.
This book presents Diego Giacometti's work, and brings "out of the shadows" an exceptional artist, whose fame has been for a long time occulted by his brother's.
