Exhibition at the Fondation Vuitton, Paris, 3 October 2018 - 14 January 2019
Egon Schiele (1890-1918) was the author of an intimate and uncompromising body of work. In the course of his brief career, he produced some three hundred paintings and several thousand drawings. Although his morbid nudes and self-portraits led to his rejection by the critics of his time and to a short period of imprisonment, his influence in the Viennese art world was not diminished.
This exhibition catalogue examines the Austrian artist's relationship to the body in his work.
