In 1957, Italian designer Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) became artistic director of the furniture company Poltronova. This period of collaboration, during which Sottsass experimented with geometric shapes, material mixtures and colours, had a profound effect on the designer's work.
Through an important iconography, including period shots for advertising, annotated sketches and personal photographs of the artist, this book retraces this decisive period in the establishment of Sottsass' aestheticism.
