Atypical artist, Paul Klee (1879-1940) belongs to the founding artists of modernity, but is also one of the more multifaceted ones in the 20th century. His work covers a large range, from paintings and graphic works to painted glass, through puppets. In his compositions, he used equally figurative elements and abstract play of colours, and also varied combinations of diverse pictorial techniques.
This illustrated monograph, accompanied by numerous quotations from the artist and by rarely published documents, allows to appreciate all the aspects of this rich imaginary, nourished by formal researches, poetry and humour.
