American artist Marion Peck (1963) is one of the lead figures of the Low Brow art / Pop surrealism, pictorial movement born in California in the end of the 20th century, at the crossroads of figurative art and various popular media (comics, street art, cartoons, etc.). Equally influenced by the great Masters of Italian Renaissance and by the comical character of Pee-Wee Herman, Marion Peck very quickly brought a rare and distinctive voice through her work inspired by the folk and underground arts developed during the second half of the 20th century.
This book gathers for the very first time all of Marion Peck's painted work. It also includes numerous unpublished texts, including nine essays on the recurring themes of her work: magic, children, death, clowns, dreams, animals...
