Exhibition at the Château de Versailles, 4 May - 4 August 2019
From Louis XIV's installation in Versailles to the definitive transformation of the palace into a museum by Louis-Philippe in 1837, the royal residence has been a "permanent building site", object of multiple projects; lots of them never realized.
This catalogue presents through around 100 drawings three centuries of architectural projects - for the castle, the chapel, the gardens, etc. -, showing Versailles as it could have been.
