The collection of German goldsmithing of the Musée national de la Renaissance in Ecouen, the most important in France with the ones of the Louvre and of Alsace museums, contains numerous unknown masterworks.
Unjustly unknown since the 19th century, these works by the great goldsmiths of the Habsburg Empire express however the most beautiful Renaissance topics.
As French goldsmithing was massively destroyed, these objects, of which two masterworks by Wenzel Jamnitzer, restore the curiosities of the Kunstkammern and the spendour of the ceremonial of the imperial courts.
