Philippe Veurmelen (1962-), alias Fifax, 1993, had his first exhibition at the Vivienne Art Galerie in Paris in 1993. This was followed by many others, including in 1997 at the Duchy of Luxembourg and at the Shanghai Grand Theatre Gallery in China. Since then, he has exhibited all over the world (Germany, Belgium, Monaco, Australia, Spain).
In 2015, on the occasion of his official visit to the Garde Républicaine, the President of the Republic commissioned him to create a series of paintings of the Élysée Palace, which were exhibited in the Palace and its gardens for the European Heritage Days. His participation in 2014 in the digital modelling of his works for the set of the film Monsieur Hulot gave rise to the pictorial and equestrian event "À moi la Garde!" in the Célestins district, making the artist the painter of the Republican Guard.
This monograph retraces Fifax's 30-year career. It presents all his paintings, along with their history and context.
