A dominant figure of the art scene of the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th, French painter Georges Desvallières (1861-1950), independent of any school, dedicated his life to art and his peers. He had as master then friend Gustave Moreau, and worked for the recognition of non-academic artists, the refusés of the Salons. In 1903, he cofounded the Salon d'Automne, and became the "uncle" of Fauvists and the defender of Cubists. After his conversion to Christian faith and the war lived in the trenches, he founded in 1919 the Ateliers d'art sacré with Maurice Denis.

This three-volume catalogue raisonné gathers all his oil paintings, watercolours and works on paper. A monograph (vol.1) precedes the catalogue raisonné (vol.2 & 3), in which each work is fully detailed. A DVD containing 1630 photographic documents and two videos completes the set.
