Exhibition at the Musée Fesch, Ajaccio, 26 June - 27 September 2010
Younger than Napoleon but with a strong personality, Lucien Bonaparte forged his character in his relationship with his elder brother. Contemporaries suggest that they resembled each other: same physical type, same taste for politics, same ambitions. They both had a modern approach to communication and paid attention to image effects. The breadth of their culture and their love of writing brought them together.
This catalogue of the exhibition dedicated to Lucien Bonaparte retraces the life of this man who, unlike his brother, rejected military life to devote himself to the arts, sciences and scholarship.
