Exhibition at Château de Longpra, 10 June 10 - 26 September 2010
In the middle of the 18th century, in Grenoble, the famous cabinetmaker-family Hache furnished with great talent the castles and apartments of the Dauphiné nobility. When Antoine-Pierre Pascalis de Longpra, member of the Parliament and art lover, decided to transform the fortified house he inherited of, into an elegant residence, he naturally appealed to Haches' workshop. The cabinetmakers were immediately fascinated by this project, being sure it would be a nice example of their extraordinary know-how.
This exhibition catalogue recounts the history of the collaboration which united the art lover and the Haches during 40 years.
