Exhibition at the Bourse de Commerce-Pinault Collection, Paris, 22 June 2022 - 2 January 2023
The works from the Pinault Collection gathered in this exhibition catalogue explore the polysemy of present time, which is by turns suspended, fleeting, inhabited by spectral presences, and traversed by the theme of absence and incarnation.
This cycle borrows its title from the Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers' film Une seconde d'éternité (d'après une idée de Charles Baudelaire), made in 1971, in which the artist's presence appears, for a brief moment, through the simple figuration of his signature.
The book invents a space-time through the works of some twenty artists: Larry Bell, Miriam Cahn, Nina Canell, Liz Deschenes, Ryan Gander, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Roni Horn, Pierre Huyghe, Gustave le Gray, Sherrie Levine, Philippe Parreno, Anri Sala, Tino Sehgal, Rudolf Stingel, Sturtevant, Wolfgang Tillmans, Carrie Mae Weems.
