This book, first summary published since 1968, offers to go through the history of stained-glass window from the Early Middle Ages, today much better understood thanks to major archaeological discoveries throughout Europe and to a better text interpretation, until its most recent expressions. The world of stained-glass is discussed following new perspectives allowing to revise number of commonplaces.
An unpublished photographic project reveals a new iconography, often unknown, and shows stained-glass windows in their architectural surroundings or in their full extent.
