Exhibition at the Jan Michalski Foundation, Montricher (Switzerland), 26 October - 30 December 2017
An extraordinary fusion of four hundred and forty-five free verses by Blaise Cendrars (1887-1961) and the colours of Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979), The Prose of the Trans-Siberian Railway and Little Jehanne de France, which came off the press in November 1913 in Paris, is one of the founding artists' books of twentieth-century modernity.
This exhibition catalogue brings together a unique collection of archival documents and works, including three copies of the Prose, to tell the story of this "first simultaneous book".
