Exhibition. Roubaix, La Piscine-Musée d'art et d'industrie A.-Diligent. June 25 to September 7, 2003

Born in Paris, son of a furniture manufacturer, Gaston Lachaise began exhibiting at the Salon in 1899. At the beginning of the new century, he met and fell in love with Isabel Dutaud Nagel. It was not until 1917 that he married her after emigrating to the United States to follow her. His wife's body was his primary source of inspiration for his sculptures.
