Exhibition at Galerie Steinitz, Paris, 9 September - 8 November 2014
Edouard Lièvre (1828-1886) is considered as one of the most important creators of furniture and works of art in the second half of the 19th century. His work, long forgotten, surprises by its originality, its modernity, and its virtuosity of execution. It is now revived by Galerie Steinitz which, through this exhibition catalogue gathering his most emblematic works, traces the great lines of his career and production (neo-Renaissance, Persian style, Japonism), and the influence of his works on Parisian furniture in the first quarter of the 19th century.
