Jean-Baptiste Sécheret (1957-), a former student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and then a resident at Casa Velasquez from 1974 to 1976, began exhibiting his work in Paris, Madrid, New York, Basel and various French cities from 1980 onwards. A retrospective of his engraved and lithographed work was held in Maubeuge in 2001 and 2002, then at the Musée de Gravelines.

This book, a catalogue raisonné of Sécheret's monotypes from 1976 to the present day, bears witness to the artist's in-depth exploration of printmaking since the beginning of his career.
