The history of the Palais de l'Élysée has been marked by changes in its use and therefore in its organisation. This book, co-published with the Mobilier national, in charge of the upkeep of the Presidency of the Republic, traces the history of the palace and its successive inhabitants from its construction in 1718 to the present day. Lavishly illustrated with archive documents and contemporary photographs by Guillaume de Laubier, it is the fruit of the work of the curators and restorers at the Mobilier National and specialists in the field from a range of museums and institutions.
