As soon as 1959 was published the first catalogue raisonné of Alfred Sisley's (1839-1899) painted work. Around six decades have been necessary since then before the publication of this new, updated catalogue raisonné, expanded in terms of number of included works and illustrated with colour reproductions.
This new edition lists 1012 paintings and, for the first time, the 71 pastels of the Impressionist master. It retraces Sisley's career, the personality of the painter, the characteristics of his talent, and resituates his place within the Impressionist group.
