Cartier's history is deeply rooted in the history of the French Riviera. Nestled in one of the most glamorous locations in the world, the jewellery house opened its doors in Monaco in 1935, attracting a high-profile clientele, including Grace Kelly, who became Princess Grace of Monaco after her marriage to Prince Rainier III. Her long relationship with Cartier was symbolised by the creation of her magnificent engagement ring in 1956. Many pieces of jewellery designed by Cartier, including a diamond river necklace from 1953 and a ruby and diamond tiara from 1955, were given as wedding gifts.
Today, the Cartier boutique in Monaco has been renovated, paying tribute to the house's place in the principality's history and reaffirming its commitment to its prestigious Côte d'Azur clientele.
This book invites you to discover a heritage of elegance and the beauty of the Mediterranean, which have inspired some of Cartier's most splendid creations.
