A Japanese painter who became a naturalised French citizen, Tsuguharu-Léonard Foujita is one of the leading figures of the École de Paris. Having settled in Paris in 1913, he distinguished himself through a unique style, combining the finesse of Japanese drawing with a modern approach to Western painting. His portraits, his nudes against ivory backgrounds and his scenes of Parisian life have earned him international recognition.
These two volumes build on more than forty years of research devoted to Foujita’s work. They bring together 1,470 previously unpublished or newly catalogued works, accompanied by numerous reproductions and archival documents. Volume 3 is an updated reissue of Foujita inédits, published in 2007 and already regarded as an integral part of the catalogue raisonné.
