Le Génie Des Hache
Auteur(s) : Pierre Rouge, Françoise Rouge
This new publication by Editions Faton is devoted to Thomas, Pierre and Jean-François Hache, cabinetmakers in Grenoble in the 18th century, whose originality is notably due to their constant use of the Alps wood.
At the dawn of the 18th century, Thomas Hache perfects a method of special sawing to get great burr leaves and also the secret, now lost, of the red and green shades which he knew give to sycamore and ash. Before the middle of the century, Pierre Hache creates his own Louis XV decorative repertoire, skilful combination of Parisian influence and familial tradition, while Jean-François Hache takes it on his own account and creates new decors.
