Auteur(s) : Emmanuelle Brame
Book signing at librairie Lardanchet on Wednesday 22 April 2026 from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
The author has an in-depth understanding of the art world, both culturally and commercially. This thriller therefore offers a deep dive into this world where art and business intersect, both in the open and behind the scenes.
Following the jewellery heist at the Louvre in October, we find ourselves back in the same museum, where a monumental work, The Wedding at Cana, has been slashed by a mysterious individual who managed to bypass the museum’s alarms and security measures. The prime suspect is a young guard with a highly unconventional background: he is a trader who made his fortune and dreamed of becoming a gallery attendant at the Louvre. Too unconventional for this conservative milieu. The media spotlight will turn on him. And indeed, it is to him that the crook will turn, offering him a strange deal. He knows his family and is aware that the young man’s personal collection contains some questionable items. Prune, the young Minister of Culture, will get close to Romain, and the two of them will take it upon themselves to unravel this strange affair.
The setting is unusual, but so are the protagonists: how could a trader become a museum curator? This Minister of Culture will use this encounter to shake things up.
