Lucian Freud: catalogue raisonné of the oil paintings

This catalogue raisonné of Lucian Freud (1922–2011) is the first attempt to comprehensively catalogue the artist's oil paintings. Over 500 works are presented and catalogued comprehensively, with separate entries for each work providing essential information, provenance, exhibition history and bibliography, followed by individual commentary.

This four-volume work offers a new analysis of the paintings, essays by three eminent contributors - critic and Freud specialist Sebastian Smee, National Portrait Gallery researcher Jacob Simon, and curator and art historian Colin Wiggins—a chronology of the British painter's life and work, complete lists of solo and group exhibitions, and a bibliography, offering a comprehensive overview of Freud's career and critical responses to his work.
