Miquel Barceló
Auteur(s) : Miquel Barceló
Spanish artist Miquel Barceló (1957-) creates his paintings, sculptures and ceramics using mixed media, often characterised by relief textures and expressive forms. His fascination with the natural world has inspired canvases reminiscent of the earthy materiality of Catalan painters such as Antoni Tàpies and Joan Miró, as well as compositions that explore the effects of light and the changing colours of the sea.
This book highlights Barceló's creativity through more than a dozen new paintings from the Corrida series and a selection of recent ceramic objects. Excerpts from Barceló's recent autobiography, De la vida mía, bring together notebooks, paintings, photographs, stories and objects from the artist's various studios.
