Musée de la Mode et du Costume - Fragonard
Auteur(s) : Collectif
Born out of an encounter between the Fragonard perfume house – run by Anne, Agnès and Françoise Costa – and local fashion historians Odile and Magali Pascal, the Fragonard Museum of Fashion and Costume opened its doors on 6 July 2025. Shortly before the death of the historian Magali Pascal, the three Costa sisters committed themselves to preserving the entire Arles collection to ensure its long-term survival in a space dedicated to exhibition and sharing.
Bringing together two collections – those of Hélène Costa and Magali Pascal – this book recounts the origins of the museum project in a magnificent Arlesian townhouse, renovated by the architectural practice Studio KO, as well as its remarkable collections of Provençal costumes, textiles and jewellery from the 18th to the 20th century. Through a selection of iconic works, it highlights the richness of Provençal costume heritage, textile craftsmanship and the history of jewellery over the centuries.
