Norman Foster (1935-) has created some of the world's best-known buildings. Sensitive to environmental issues, the British architect has sought since the beginning of his career to adapt his works to their environment by combining technology and ecology

This catalogue of the Centre Pompidou's retrospective brings together drawings, workbooks, models and prototypes, providing an insight into some one hundred projects, both in architecture and design. A selection of modern and contemporary artworks reminds us of the extent to which these were the markers of decisive aesthetic periods for Norman Foster.
