PARIS-BRUXELLES 1880-1914 : EFFERVESCENCE DES VISIONS ARTISTIQUES

PARIS-BRUSSELS 1880-1914: An Effervescence of Artistic Visions
Auteur(s) : Collectif
Exhibition at the Palais Lumière, Évian, 19 April 2025 - 4 January 2026
From the influence of Japanese art to the lights of Montmartre, from evocative Symbolism to the Brittany of Pont-Aven, via Neo-Impressionism, the Nabis and Art Nouveau, this exhibition catalogue invites visitors to discover the artistic effervescence of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
It features more than three hundred and fifty paintings, drawings, watercolours, prints and posters by leading and yet-to-be-discovered artists from a private collection of nearly five thousand works. For over twenty-five years, this private collector, who wishes to remain anonymous, has put together this remarkable collection in order to highlight the often subtle, aesthetic and personal links between artists, which, once brought together, open our eyes to an art world rarely documented with such rigour.
