Robert Picault, potier d'art

Auteur(s) : Jean Le Pape, Jean Jacques Wattel
A graduate of the Arts Appliqués in Paris who came to Vallauris as a scout in 1945, Robert Picault (1919-2000) is renowned for his culinary pottery, which features tangles of green geometric lines on a white background. Driven by a desire to create unique pieces, he simultaneously renovated his culinary pottery and continued to create artistic pieces, making a major contribution to the post-war boom in the pottery centre.
This monograph reveals the incredible energy of Picault, who was both a Potier d'Art and a company director, as well as the pugnacity that led him to achieve incredible technical and artistic innovations.
