This book explains and sets out all the processes involved in casting, modelling, carving, casting, the stages of creation and composition, authentic copies, copies, mouldings and reductions. All the successive operations involved in shaping and decorating are analysed, described, illustrated and selected in such a way as to list all the processes used in the various periods, without claiming to constitute a history of sculpture.
