The fruit of a lifetime devoted to upholstery, this richly illustrated reference book written by a former teacher at the Ecole Boulle is an inexhaustible source of iconographic documents, whether of seats being upholstered, photographs of technical gestures, exemplary furniture or explanatory diagrams.
The first part, devoted to the seat, describes the classic upholstery techniques, each operation being the subject of numerous explanations. More recent upholstery techniques, such as upholstery or lining, are also discussed, as well as modern techniques using current materials such as foams.
The second part deals with bedding (mattresses and box springs), window decorations and upholstery. Special attention is given to draperies, floors and covers.
