Warhol : Un mythe américain

Nouveauté

Exhibition at the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Fund for Culture, Landerneau, 6 June 2002 – 7 January 2027

The son of immigrants, Andrew Warhola enjoyed early success as a commercial graphic designer before becoming one of the most recognisable and influential artistic figures of the 20th century, the embodiment of the American dream: Andy Warhol.

A shrewd businessman, Warhol recognised early on the power of commercial imagery, which inspired him but which he also incorporated physically into his works. He understood the power of advertising and the media, which transform products and individuals into icons.

This exhibition catalogue brings together iconic works from Warhol’s extensive career, well known to the public, as well as others that have never been seen before. It also invites us to question the meaning of the American dream and the construction of the American myth.
