The Finnish architects and designers Aino (1894-1949) and Alvar (1898-1976) Aalto founded Artek together and created some of the most famous objects and buildings of the twentieth century.

Written by the artists' grandson, this first monograph to pay tribute to the life and work of Aino and Alvar as a joint venture offers a personal and intimate look at the unconventional life of one of the most influential design couples of the twentieth century. The book is based on the family's largely unpublished archives, including personal letters, snapshots and sketches.
