Augustin Rouart
Auteur(s) : Jean Marie Rouart
The painter Augustin Rouart (1907-1997) and his son Jean-Marie had a curious relationship. Their relationship went through all the phases of filial affection, from love to the turbulence of adolescence, to find a final harmony in art. Jean-Marie Rouart was at first the child model whose portrait the painter could not get enough of, before being entrusted to adoptive parents in Noirmoutier, receiving illustrated letters in which his father told him about his life in drawings like a comic strip.
In this highly illustrated book, the Academician pays tribute to his father, a luminous artist, and questions the secret links between painting and literature.
