Daniel Brush : l’art de la ligne et de la lumière
Auteur(s) : Olivia Brush, Vivienne Becker
Exhibition at the École des Arts joailliers, Paris, 8 June – 4 October 2026
The American painter, sculptor, poet-goldsmith and jeweller Daniel Brush (1947–2022) is one of the most fascinating artists of the 20th century. Self-taught, he embodied a visionary approach, unbound by artistic boundaries, driven by his exploration of light, materials and lines. His lifelong obsession – conveying light through line – was deeply informed by his study of Claude Monet’s pictorial representations of light.
This volume, serving as both an exhibition catalogue and a monograph, offers a structured exploration of Daniel Brush’s world and body of work. It brings together more than 75 pieces of jewellery and objects, some of which have never been seen before and are leaving his New York studio for the first time. It includes photographs of the works, alternating between macroscopic and microscopic perspectives, which allow a closer look at the artist’s art, as well as shots of his studio that bear witness to the close relationship between his life and his creations.
