Danish Textile Prints Through 100 Years

Nouveauté

Auteur(s) : Kirsten Toftegaard

Fabric printing has played a significant role in defining Danish modernism, which is recognised internationally. Beyond colour schemes and repetitive patterns, this tradition also leaves room for poetry and humour. Fabric printing techniques allow for the creation of a wide variety of patterns and designs on woven textiles. The endless possibilities are evident in many everyday objects, from clothing to furniture.

This book tells the story of the diversity of this craft and its importance in Danish modernism, a subject that is often overlooked and has never been studied in its entirety before. It draws on the Designmuseum Danmark's extensive collection of printed fabrics, as well as new works by contemporary textile artists.
