Gardening with Nature at the New York Botanical Garden

The renowned New York Botanical Garden is a 100-hectare multi-purpose cultural venue located in the heart of the Bronx. The natural features of the NYBG – rolling hills dotted with rocky outcrops, ancient forest, spectacular Bronx River Gorge – were incorporated into its original design 130 years ago, creating a mosaic of gardens and plant collections that blend seamlessly with the landscape. Today, the NYBG embodies the principles of sustainable horticulture.
This richly illustrated book highlights seven distinct horticultural environments. It showcases the process of decomposition and regeneration in the Thain Family Forest, the carpet of millions of naturalised daffodils on Daffodil Hill, the azaleas emerging from rocky outcrops and sheltered by majestic trees, and the recently installed native plant garden.
