In this book, the great-niece and heir of Germaine Richier (1902-1959) has traced the sculptor's life through her correspondence, retraced the scandal caused by her Christ d'Assy and gathered texts by contemporary authors of the Ouragane (named after one of her works).

Claude Mary, Germaine Richier's assistant, led the way for Laurence Durieu - who did not know Germaine Richier, who died before she was born - in order to better understand this unclassifiable artist, who was born in a world alien to art and who pursued her career relentlessly.
