French painter Jean-Michel Coulon travelled several times to the US (1955-1956) and in Italy (between 1960 and 1971), from where he wrote numerous letters to his family in which he commented what he was seeing.
These two books transcribe his rich collection of letters during his trips and offer a precious testimony on 1950s America, from Chicago and New York to Buffalo, and on the diversities of Italy, from North cities to Naples.
