Exhibition at the Musée de l'Annonciade, Saint-Tropez, 11 July – 14 November 2025
Although still relatively unknown to the general public, Lucie Cousturier (1876–1925) was an important figure in the Neo-Impressionist circle. A pupil of Paul Signac and Henri Edmond Cross, she exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants in 1901, then in 1906 took part in the Salon de la Libre Esthétique in Brussels and presented paintings at the Berliner Secession in Berlin. Regular solo exhibitions were held between 1906 and 1913.
This monographic exhibition, organised to mark the centenary of her death, aims to present the life and work of Lucie Cousturier (1876-1925), to place her in her historical context and to rehabilitate this forgotten Neo-Impressionist artist. A painter, writer and anti-colonial activist, her life was marked by her commitment.
