Thierry Duval discovered Delacroix's work while preparing for the Decorative Arts competition, and this is where his passion for watercolour came from. From then on, he never stopped working on his technique, until he achieved an unusual rendering, an unusual strength of colour and light, and a highly precise drawing, giving his work an uncommon realism.
This book brings together a collection of around sixty of the artist's watercolours of Paris over the last 10 years: quays of the Seine in the early hours of the morning, roofs gleaming in the rain, light filtering under bridges, markets, cafés, second-hand booksellers...
