Hans Coper

Auteur(s) : Tony Birks

Hans Coper (1920–1981) is regarded as one of the most important ceramic artists of the 20th century.

This well-researched biography, written in a restrained style, provides insights into the man, his character and his working methods. Hans Coper had a major influence on English ceramics from the 1950s onwards, not only through his exhibitions but also through his talent as a teacher at the Royal College of Art in London, where he shaped a generation of students.
