This exhibition catalogue invites us to rediscover the work of Louis Valtat (1869-1952), an independent and prolific painter close to the Nabis and a precursor of Fauvism.

The book presents the various themes tackled by the painter, his relationship with the decorative arts and proposes comparisons with the works of his contemporaries (Maillol, Signac or Renoir).
