This exhibition catalogue offers a rereading of the theme of the bather in the work of Pablo Picasso with counterpoints of works by 19th century artists who influenced Picasso in the treatment of this subject: Cézanne, Manet, Renoir.

Other artists who were contemporaries or followers of Picasso are also presented as they became interested in Picasso's bathers: Francis Bacon, Henry Moore, Farah Atassi, Elsa Sahal.
