In 2025, the Wilmotte & Associés agency will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. Half a century of work attesting to the vitality of achievements that from the outset were not confined to France but extended throughout the world; achievements that focused with equal interest on architecture, museography, furniture design and urban planning.
In the field of architecture, Wilmotte established himself as a leader in the renovation of old buildings in the 1980s. He was also the first to rethink museum design with his own unique vocabulary and grammar: structuring visitor flows, lighting effects, soothing colours, minimalist display cases and furniture, and the design of relaxation areas, creating the ideal combination of culture and entertainment.
This monograph attempts to trace, through photographs and drawings, Wilmotte's contribution to our environment through a number of iconic projects, all of which reveal the agency's profound meaning: architecture that is also a moral code.
